Boka: A Lincoln Park Gem That Lives Up to the Hype (and Then Some)
Okay, Chicago foodies, let’s talk Boka. This Michelin-starred restaurant in Lincoln Park has been on my “must-try” list for ages, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. In fact, it blew my expectations out of the water.
From the moment we stepped inside, the ambiance was on point. The modern, sophisticated decor with its warm lighting and cozy booths created the perfect setting for a special occasion (or just a really nice Wednesday night, no judgment).
But let’s be real, we’re here for the food. And Boka delivers. Keep in mind that menu at Boka is seasonal. So based on local fresh ingredients menu keeps changing.
Here’s the lowdown on what we ordered:
Golden Osetra Caviar: This was a fantastic starter. The dish was incredibly fresh, and the delicate balance of flavors was exquisite.
Roasted Cauliflower: Don’t roll your eyes! This was hands down the best cauliflower I’ve ever had. Perfectly roasted with a complex, smoky flavor.
Black Tuffle Roasted Chicken : Cooked to perfection, with juicy and tender meat. The accompanying sauce was rich and flavorful.
Pan-Seared Scallops: These were plump, juicy, and seared to a golden brown. The accompanying risotto was creamy and decadent.
And for dessert? The chocolate mousse was a decadent dream.
Beyond the food:
Service: Impeccable. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly without being intrusive.
Wine list: Extensive and well-curated. Our server helped us choose the perfect pairing for our meal.
Ambiance: As I mentioned, the atmosphere was spot-on. Elegant but not stuffy.
The verdict?
Boka is worth every penny. It’s the kind of place you go to celebrate a special occasion or simply treat yourself to an unforgettable dining experience. If you’re looking for a truly exceptional meal in Chicago, Boka should be at the top of your list.
