As we all know that Chicago is a foodie city. We locals love to eat and that makes the best restaurants to keep opening up in the Windy City.
Among all best options for dining very few places capture the essence of Southern comfort food like Wishbone Restaurant.
Wishbone restaurant in Chicago is located in West Loop neighborhood. Wishbone has been serving dishes focused on Southern dining style.
I must say that you will have best taste and reminds you back home even if you’re 800 miles from North Carolina.
Whether you’re a local looking for a new brunch spot, a traveler exploring Chicago’s dining options, or a foodie planning your next trip, Wishbone Restaurant in Chicago is a must-visit.
In this review I will cover what exactly made me feel that this place is so special, what to try, and how to make the most of your visit.
A Taste of the South in the Heart of Chicago
Wishbone Restaurant was opened in 1990 by the Nickson family. It was one of those restaurants that have witnessed the development of so called now Chicago’s bustling West Loop.
The restaurant was built on a foundation of Southern “Lowcountry” cuisine, yes dishes are rooted in North Carolina. I insist you must start thinking of shrimp & grits, cornbread, collard greens, and blackened catfish.
I liked the fact that fusion dishes of Southern food and urban touch makes it a unique place to enjoy Southern food in a space filled with vibrant art and community energy.
The vibe is casual and cozy with just enough funk to keep things interesting. It is one of the best choices for breakfast or brunch in west loop.
