Des Plaines Family Restaurant & Pancake House is one of the neighborhood breakfast restaurants in Des Plaines. Last weekend I stopped by for breakfast. I always heard good reviews about the place so finally I decided to review Des Plaines Family Restaurant & Pancake House.

Des Plaines Family Restaurant & Pancake House diner is the place for breakfast and brunch in northwest suburb where you can get good options, from pancakes to omelets and more. Diner is moderately busy, so you do not really have to wait too long to get the table.

Menu at Des Plaines Family Restaurant & Pancake House is focused on breakfast, offering different kinds of omelets, pancakes, French toasts, crepes and sandwiches. I am omelet and pancake person, so ended up ordering Vegetarian Omelets and Raisin-Nut Pancakes.

Raisin-Nut Pancakes were made with raisins and topped with pecans. My pancakes were dusted with cinnamon sugar to complement the taste of maple syrup.

Order of Fresh Vegetarian Omelets came with the side of wheat toast and hashbrown potatoes. The Omelets was made with fresh broccoli, onions, tomatoes, green peppers and mushrooms. If you like you can add cheese to your omelet. I usually prefer omelet without cheese. Omelets was fluffy and cooked well.

I must say, service at Des Plaines Family Restaurant & Pancake House is excellent and fast. Servers were continuously filling up water glasses and coffee cups that was impressive, I haven’t seen that kind of good service at any other brunch restaurants in Chicago.

Speaking of taste, food is good but not that exceptional. In my opinion, you get large portions for the price, made with fresh ingredients. We paid $27 for the brunch for two, overall it was not bad at all.

In my opinion, Des Plaines Family Restaurant and Pancake House is good neighborhood diner for breakfast where you can get all American breakfast at reasonable price, starting from morning 6:00 am till 3:00 pm in the afternoon.
