Things to Do in Chicago in June 2018

Can you believe we are already in the middle of the year 2018? It’s June already, Oh well, so far the beginning of June month is not bad at all, weather is getting better, so does the list of outdoor things to do in Chicago. Yes, there are plenty of things to do in Chicago during summer months, and June is one of those fun months in Chicago.
Today’s list of festivals and activities will help you plan your month of June 2018 in Chicago.

Things to Do in Chicago in June

MILLENNIUM PARK MUSIC SERIES SELECT MONDAYS & THURSDAYS, JUNE-AUGUST, 2018
This year Millennium Park Summer Music Series will be offering FREE outdoor concerts 10 times on selected days between June 18 and August 16th at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. Get ready to enjoy the music of local, national and international artists in Chicago. This music series is scheduled in June month on 18, 21, 28, in July on 19, 23, 26, 30, and in August 6, 12, and 16.

Personally I prefer to utilize “L” trains to get to the downtown Chicago. If you are planning to drive then you can park at one of the Millennium parking garages located at 5 S. Columbus Drive, Grant Park North Garage at 25 N. Michigan Ave. and Grant Park South Garage at 325 S. Michigan Ave.

CHICAGO UNDERGROUND FILM FESTIVAL JUNE 6-10, 2018
The Chicago Underground Film Festival is one of the best events in Chicago, showcasing independent documentary and experimental films from around the world. At this even, you can get access to critically acclaimed filmmakers and emerging talent from around the world. This 25th annual Chicago Underground Film Festival is scheduled starting from June 6th through June 10th, 2018.

There are two kinds of passes available for purchase, Super Fan Pass is priced at $250 that gives you access to all five days of festival plus access to all CUFF events throughout the year, plus CUFF 25 T-shirt. The Festival Pass is priced at $100 per person, that gives you access to all five days of screening and parties.

RIBFEST CHICAGO JUNE 8-10, 2018
Plan on attending Ribfest Chicago 2018, to enjoy the summer season with great local bands and delicious barbecue. Family with kids can take part in family friendly activities, entertainment and many more things at Kids Square.

You and your family can have great time with ribs, music and activities at Ribfest. This year Ribfest is schedule for June 8-10, 2018. On Friday Ribfest will be held between 5-10pm, and on Saturday & Sunday, between 12 to 10 pm at 4000 N Lincoln Ave, between Irving Park Rd & Bereau Ave in Chicago. For admission to Ribfest, $10 Donation per person or $20 per family is requested to benefit Northcenter philanthropy and community programs.

CHICAGO BLUES FESTIVAL JUNE 8-10, 2018
The Chicago Blues Festival is one of the largest FREE Blues festival in the world, held at Millennium Park. It is one of the largest free Music festivals. Whether you are blues fans or not, you are assured to have great fun and enjoy free live music. In my opinion, Chicago Blues Festival is one of the best things to do in Chicago in June 2018. SPRING AWAKENING MUSIC FESTIVAL JUNE 8-10, 2018
Spring Awakening Music Festival is adult only! You must age of 18 or older to get admission. Make sure to bring your valid ID to get admission to the festival.

Parking is extremely limited and not encouraged. If you park in the neighborhood to attend the event you will be ticketed and towed by Police. Also, throughout the weekend there will be after parties organized by famous nightclubs including Prysm, Sound-Bar, and the MID and Electric Hotel. GRANT PARK MUSIC FESTIVAL JUNE 13-AUGUST 18, 2018
Grant Park Music Festival has been popular among local Chicagoans and visitors since last 80 summers. This year festival season will start on June 13th and ends on August 18th, 2018. It’s an opportunity for you to enjoy the music and lyrics of most popular artists! Admission to the Grant Park Music Festival is free!

RANDOLPH STREET MARKET FESTIVAL JUNE 23-24, 2018
Plan a visit to Randolph Street Market to enjoy outdoor shopping. This market is the place for antique collectibles, art, jewelry, home decorative and more, including food and drinks. During May through September, if you are in downtown Chicago then you can catch a free trolley shuttles from Water Tower every hour during Market hours. Check more detail about the market here!

GAY PRIDE CHICAGO JUNE 24, 2018
The 49th annual Chicago Pride Parade is one of the famous gay prides nationwide, kicks off in Boystown. Throughout the month of June there are many LGBT related events held that includes Dyke March and Back Lot Bash. Apart from the Boystown, there are also many weekend parties are happening in Little Village, Andersonville and Rogers Park. One of the best LGBT friendly things to do in Chicago in June 2018 !

CHICAGO SUMMERDANCE THURSDAYS-SUNDAYS, JUNE 28-AUGUST 25, 2018
Every Thursdays and Sundays, between June 28th and August 25, 2018 – join the SummerDance at Grant Park, Spirit of the Music Garden and other Chicago Park District location. You can have fun dancing to the sounds of over 48 different kinds of bands and DJs. Plan to attend and have fun at this open air open dance floor. Admission to SummerDance festival is free.

RAVENSWOOD ON TAP JUNE 2018 DATES June 23-24
Ravenswood on Tap is scheduled on Saturday June 23 between 12-10 pm, and Sunday June 24th between 12-6 pm. The Ravenswood on Top craft beer festival was held at Ravenswood and Berteau. Plan on attending third annual Ravenswood on Tap craft beer festival to enjoy different kinds of beers from local breweries along with good food from local restaurants and Chicago food trucks.

WINDY CITY RIBFEST IN UPTOWN JUNE 29 – JULY 1, 2018
Summer is all about barbeque, enjoy hot and delicious slabs of ribs at Windy City Rib Fest! This festival features good quality ribs from local and national rib companies along with cool live music for entertainment.

The Windy City Ribfest is held at 4800 N. Broadway St. Chicago Illinois, location close to The Green Mill, Aragon Ballroom and Riviera nightclub. Plan a day to enjoy food, drinks and music at the fest, ending with fun at one of these famous nightclubs.
