Situated at a distance of one block from Oprah Winfrey’s studio and a couple of minutes from downtown City Hall and United Center, Wishbone restaurant is truly a hub for all kinds of people.

The Wishbone restaurant’s unique décor combined with impeccable service and obviously great food makes it one of the most popular dining venues in Chicago.

What makes it different and so endearing to its loyal patrons is that delicious and hearty portions of southern cuisine are available at pretty reasonable prices.

Besides lunch and dinner, the Wishbone restaurant in Chicago also serves great brunch and there can be quite a queue lining up outside. The special wishbone salad is a special combination of mixed lettuce, Guyere cheese, tomato and croutons tossed in balsamic vinaigrette.

The Wishbone restaurant also offers a couple of delights for vegetarians too. There are the black bean cakes prepared with black beans, cilantro, green onions, and green peppers and served with sweet red pepper sauce or vegan with mango salsa.

At Wishbone restaurant, hoecakes are a combination of grilled vegetables prepared in white wine cream sauce over cheese grit cakes and served with coleslaw garnish.

The famous Hoppin’ John with black eyes peas and hoppin’ Jack with black beans is also available. It is served on rice garnished with cheddar cheese, scallions, and tomato.

At Wishbone restaurant, in the main dishes there is much that non-vegetarians will get to enjoy like the special wishbone BBQ pork that is served with a choice of N.C. style pepper vinegar, traditional style BBQ or Lexington style BBQ sauce.

Smoked beef brisket is a preparation of Wishbone smoked brisket slices served with a choice of horseradish sauce or traditional BBQ sauce. Jambalaya Cajun stew is quite a hearty meal that includes a combination of poached chicken, chicken andouille sausage with peppers and onions, which is served with rice in a large bowl.

The Wishbone restaurant also serves crab, crawfish and salmon cakes where each of them are made into patties and served with lemon butter sauce and Yankee coleslaw. The drink menu is equally extensive and covers practically all kinds of cocktails, beers, wines, champagne, single malts and liqueurs.
