Apply online to join Zipcar in Chicago. Zipcar company performs check on your driving records and based on that you get approval or denial. What’s Included with Zipcar reservation?
Gas
Yes, Gas is free. Use Zip fuel card located in the car to fill up the tank. You can fill up the gas once tank is 1/4 full. It is painless and easy to fill up gas using Zip fuel card at any gas station.
Insurance
You are covered. Zipcar reservation provides comprehensive insurance with low hourly or daily reservation. At the time of writing this Zipcar review, insurance limit is $300,000 for individual who are 21 years and over. For under 21 years of age individual, coverage is provided up to the minimum financial responsibility limits required by law in the jurisdiction in which the accident occurs or the claim is adjudicated. Minimum financial responsibility limits vary by jurisdiction.
Mileage
You get 180 miles per day with Zipcar reservation. After that you get 20 miles on every extra hour. For example, if you reserved zipcar in Chicago for 26 hours that means you get 180 miles for the first 24 hours and 20 miles extra for each hour. In this example 180 + (2 x 20) = 220 miles total.
If you happen to cross 180 miles in one day then you will be charged $0.45 per mile for most of all cars. Charge for Zipvans and premium vehicles like BMWs is $0.55 per mile.
Note: Free miles varies with countries. US reservations include up to 180 miles; Canadian reservations include up to 200 kilometres; UK reservations include 40 miles; and Spain reservations include 20 kilometers.
